So it’s been a while
WILMINGTON, Del., Aug. 23
Greetings from the vacuum of the Internet. I have returned from a long absence to report ... nothing. I’m here in the Wilm, house-sitting for a co-worker and wondering what I should mention to the public at large. I still work for The News Journal (that could change any day, thanks to a crappy economy), living in Delaware with the roomies (whom I don’t see much), and single (that’s not a typo). Things, for the most part, are grand. More details TK. Oh, and did I mention that Joe Biden likely is going to be our next veep? And he’s from Delawhere? Sweet.

Keeping a promise
WILMINGTON, Del., May. 6
So despite working a hellish week at the new job, spending time getting to know my roommates, co-workers and the wonderful municipality known as Wilmington, as well as buying a new bed, maxing out the Visa card and nursing several fire ant bites, I’ve managed to bring you something original. Here’s one of my four roommates. I have today and tomorrow off, so I guess I posted some of my roadtrip highlights. Oh, did I mention I spilled Coke on the laptop? Guess I’ll be cleaning that on my days off, too.

Making a promise
WILMINGTON, Del., May. 1
I’m making a promise, so I can hold myself to it. I promise to post some videos and be a little more diligent about the blog after today, my first day on the job. I start at 3 p.m. Wish me luck!

I’m alive, but barely
WILMINGTON, Del., Apr. 29
After a terrifying snow storm—OK, I was scared—I’ve arrived in Delaware. I have a lot of stuff to do before Thursday’s first day, and I need a little sleep and some food, but I’ll get some videos up here soon. Thanks, and sorry!

1,000 miles to go
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Apr. 27
I must begin by apologizing for the sudden drop in updates. Yesterday was a trying day, and the computer did not cooperate. I drove from Albuquerque to Springfield in a little over 11 hours. Driving through Oklahoma taught me one thing: Don’t drive through Oklahoma. I got stuck on the turnpike and couldn’t get off, it was awful. Also, as I stopped in Joplin, Mo., I realized that the 30-minute Lube Shop on Mendocino Ave. back in Santa Rosa OVERINFLATED my tires by 15 PSI. I fear they might be ruined. I let them down to 30 PSI, what the factory recommends, and now the car is driving like shit. I’m going to stop in Champaign, Ill., to see Niko today, and I hope to upload some photos and pix went I get there.

The Crater
ACOMITA, N.M., Apr. 25
It wasn’t all that exciting, but I’m a geek so I liked it. Here now is raw footage of my five minutes at Meteor Crater ... I left ‘cause I was getting eating up by gnats. Bleh

Finally, the Internet
ACOMITA, N.M., Apr. 25
Where else but at a casino. I’m starting to get tired and think I’ll stop in Albuquerque for the night. When I get wherever I get, I’ll post more video.

Where’s the Internet?
WINSLOW, Ariz., Apr. 25
I’m hanging out for a second at Arizona’s Meteor Crater. Sadly, the Internet here sucks, so I can’t upload the photos and videos from earlier today. I hope to have them up sooner rather than later. Now, on to Albuquerque!

Maybe I’ll quit smoking
PASADENA, Calif., Apr. 24
I’m hanging out in SoCal, watching movies and eating fast food with momma. She took the day off to hang out and help me plan my trip. While this is going on, we’ve emptied two packs of smokes—my vice is Marlboro Lights, her’s are Benson & Hegdes. My stomach’s in knots waiting to hit the road, but maybe it’s because I’ve had too much nicotine. I think I want to quit when I arrive in Delaware. Just a random thought.

First day down
PASADENA, Calif., Apr. 24
So I completed a tour of my California—starting from Santa Rosa and going to San Francisco, Bakersfield and Los Angeles. The only place I won’t get to see before I leave is Orange County—but I’m not missing much. I will post a little more tomorrow about the plans. Plus, I will have ample time to make sure all the coding on the site is legit. Until then, goodnight.

I’ve arrived in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Apr. 23
Got into Bakersfield at 8:30, just in time for my stepdad, Joe, to make tacos. As much as I miss his cooking, I don’t miss Bakersfield. Not one bit. Anyway, the video is from earlier in the day ... I was stick in Bay Area traffic one more time.

Day 1: Short and sweet
SANTA ROSA, Calif., Apr. 23
I’m about to embark on my journey, and I hope you’ll come along for the ride. More details, and better writing, when I get to L.A.
